In Norse mythology, Valhalla is where brave fallen warriors are welcomed by the god Odin. Valhalla’s purpose is to honor these soldiers with majestic splendor.
On September 23rd, our goal is to honor two life-changing causes — the Westport Police Benevolent Association (PBA) and the Catch A Lift Fund — with proceeds from a challenging 5K Run we’re calling the Run Till Valhalla.
Not exactly a walk in the park, the Run Till Valhalla includes four exercise stations along the 5K course on Sherwood Island — push-ups, sit-ups, air squats and burpees. You’ll run…perform 50 at one station, then run…perform 50 at the next station, then run…you get the idea. Don’t forget to stretch. 😁
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the first heat of runners starting at 8:00 a.m. The Opening Ceremony will include speakers from the PBA and Catch a Lift Fund, plus you can expect free bottles of water, light snacks, local vendors, even food to satisfy your Viking-sized appetite after this challenging course.
If you’ve got what it takes to Run Till Valhalla, you’ll walk away with an official event t-shirt, plus a something, something else, and a something else — all thanks to our generous local donors.
